We have had many people ask how they can help support Anne’s legacy and her passion for saving heritage roses.

To continue Anne’s work , we have identified three areas of focus.

  1. Opening Anne’s Gardens, by appointment
  2. Making the rare roses more common by getting them into public and private gardens and nurseries
  3. Promoting and supporting education about and the cultivation of heritage roses

Ways to help…

Join the Heritage Rose Foundation and/or a local rose society with an interest in Heritage roses, such as the Heritage Roses Northwest, the Central Florida Heritage Rose Society, Orlando Historical Rose Society, Dallas Area Heritage Rose Society, or the Quebec Rose Society. Our community is small but mighty and very welcoming. Here, I have found delightful people who graciously share their knowledge and support my learning journey. Go to: heritagerosefoundation.org for information.

Volunteer to work in rose gardens, public and private, that have heritage roses. Many gardens fall into disrepair and eventual demise as rosarians age and are no longer able to do the work. Working along side of these people is a great way to learn the names, characteristics, and stories of these gems as well as keeping the garden growing. Rosarians are known for their generosity with knowledge and cuttings, suckers, or entire plants.

Provide a home for rare roses. Learn to propagate through cuttings and suckers and share them. Let others know what you have by listing in databases such as Help Me Find Roses (helpmefind.com/rose/plants.php).

Donate. Your gift will go directly to the preservation of Anne’s Rose Gardens and her legacy projects. Some examples are to restore some of the infrastructure that support the roses, fix the irrigation system, rebuild the soil, repair some of equipment, and for the safety of visitors remove a dead tree and complete upgrading the flooring of the Pavilion. Visitors to the gardens will not be charged a fee. (That would not have sat well with Anne.) They will be encouraged to take cuttings from healthy rose plants (or suckers) and, if needed, guided as to how to root them.

We will begin to share roses with those who are further away when we are able. Donations will help with the preparation and handling needs of this endeavor.

It is important to point out that this is not a business. It is a legacy and preservation project that allows the two of us, and you, to share our love of Anne Belovich and her heritage roses.
